Notes
Worst day of fishing for the year. The wind was blowing 20mph - 40mph all afternoon. While trying to put the new flies I tied last night into my fly box by the car, the wind blew the plastic cup onto the ground and the flies were gone instantly. Later when I was first stepping into the water I slipped and was soaked. The wind inhibited any upstream casting. I saw a few fish feeding subsurface (I think) in some shallows, but of course didn't catch them. I did land one whitefish which was amazing in and of itself. I snagged some trees because of the wind, lost some more flies.........horrible day.
One interesting note: I saw lots of hatched BWOs clinging to the pebbles and rocks alongside the run I was fishing.
