Notes
Karl and I got a late start to the day Tuesday. We tried fishing below the bridge on the Malad, down by the mouth, but we saw 6-8 people in a couple hundred yard stretch. Ugh.
So, we drove above the bridge, above the dam to nice looking pool/run. I had no luck fishing the middle part of the pool (and couldn't see many fish). I had my best luck up at the top of the pool where the whitewater dissolved, fishing a bigger california leech. I initially tried smaller nymphs up there, but I think the faster water made it hard for the fish to identify the smaller food items. That, and this time of year the fish probably don't see many consistent food items drifting by, so a big meaty leech is as good a pattern as any.
