Notes
What can I say, I didn't actually catch any fish, but I had a blast nonetheless. Took my new fins out and tried them out on the pontoon boat. They work great once I got used to the movements and learning how to fish while moving backwards.
The water was scummy with algae and the beginnings of fall with leaves floating by. Threw the popper around brush and under limbs. Got many, many hits but I couldn't seem to hook up to any fish. Two problems here. One, the fish were too small to actually take the popper in their mouths, and two, the popper's weedguard probably got in the way of some.
A quick trip, but very fun to see all those fish knocking the popper around and hitting it like mad. I will definitely be putting the fly rod and popper combo into action on the creeks whenever the conditions are good. Enjoyable way to fish.
