Notes

MCB, TMM, & BD:

I felt like a little fishing and a nice walk this morning, but didn't really want to drive any where to do either, so I walked way back Sonny's lane and fished back to the bridge at Cornpropts Mills. The Stone was running fairly high and a little fast, but mostly it was muddy brown. I should have figured it was a waste of time to fish it this morning, but the exercise did me good, or at least that's what I'm telling myself.

I fished for three hours and managed to catch one, yes that's right, one 8 inch smallmouth bass was my total catch for the morning. At least I wasn't shut out, but it looked bleak for the first two hours. I didn't even miss more than maybe two or three fish. I guess there is a point where the water can be too murkey for spin fishing. Let's see, one fish for three hours of fishing that 0.333 fish/hour. I don't think Frank Nale would be impressed. I haven't had a morning this bad for a long time.

Hey it was still a nice walk back Sonny's lane and I saw a couple of deer including some really young fawns. The water temperature of the Stone was the same as the section of the LJ that I fished yesterday, both of them were 66 degrees. So the Stone is still cool enough for trout to survive, but I couldn't prove there were any survivors this morning. Next week, I'll try and pick a few spots were there are actually some fish waiting for me to catch them. Although, I'm sure there are plently of fall fish and bass in the Stone, but the water conditions this morning just didn't help me catch any of them.
