Notes

Took ma and pa out for a drive to show them around. I tried to scout for some new fishing spots. There might be a couple of places to try after run-off. Stopped at Santa to fish the St. Maries River. I was hoping I'd be able to catch half a dozen out of the hole just upstream of the bridge that's usually pretty productive.

However, the water was high and murky, and I didn't catch anything. It still looked like decent water I was fishing, but I've never had much luck fishing rivers when they're high and especially when they're off color. The fish still have to feed sometime, but it seems to really turn them off or just makes it too difficult to fish effectively. I tried large stuff, small stuff, no weight, lots of weight, and everything in between, but had no takers.

That's too bad you didn't have any luck. That place was consistently good for us in college. You'll have to try it again in a month or so (hopefully run-off for that river subsides by then).

Yeah, I know. I was hoping to go there and re-live our college days. I was thinking of you Jesus Jr. :)

I couldn't get anywhere near that rock face on the opposite side of the river. Actually, had I been able to cross, I might have been able to hook into something. The water was much better looking on that side, and that's typically where the fish sit based on past experience.

I didn't even put my waders on and just fished from the bank cause wading would have only got me out a couple feet from the shore.
