Notes

Fishing has always been great at Deer Creek Reservoir, but they had to poison it last year after the introduction of golden shiners, so I wanted to see if the fishing had returned. There seems to be plenty of fish back in the system, but it may be another year or two to start seeing some larger fish. Most of the fish were in the 10" range and the largest were about 14".

I could catch fish consistently if I stayed in about 18-20' of water. My depth finder picked up a lot of fish at this depth, but indicated that they weren't sitting on the bottom. They were located in 18-20' of water, but were sitting high in the water column around 10-12' down. The surface temp was warm at 77-80 degrees so I expected the fish to be a little deeper and, as expected, the fish were not very prevalent back in the "sticks" where they are normally found in great numbers earlier and later in the season.

Overall, a great day of fishing in terms of numbers, but size was disappointing.
