Notes
I started fishing at the riffle at 44th St in Garden City, and worked my way down. I came across a couple people fishing along the way, so I had to jump out of the water and walk around. The riffle at 45th St that has been good in the past doesn't exist anymore - people (I don't know who) have bulldozed that entire section of the river, gutting the riffle and making a giant rock pile downstream off to the side. I don't know if that was for flood control or irrigation, but that has to have a detrimental impact to the river. It's a huge disruption to the macroinvertebrates that inhabit the riffles, plus any fish eggs or alevin in that section would be destroyed. I don't get it.
I threw streamers in the last riffle I fished and had no hits. I had no hits on nymphs. Nothing.
