Notes

MCB, TMM, & BD:

I fished the LJ this morning in the gorge section. I parked at the head of the trail and walked back to the second RR bridge above the parking area. I fished from just below the bridge to above the big island upstream from the bridge. It was so much nicer this morning than it was on Tuesday morning. The temperature was about 20 degrees higher this morning, so my hands didn't turn into ice cubes. The LJ is still very low, very slow, and crystal clear. The little bit of rain we had last night didn't do a thing for the LJ.

I had a good morning, much like Bob's morning. I caught 24 trout in about three hours. The biggest trout I caught was one 14 inch brown. I only caught three or four trout that were 10 inches or less in lenght. I caught twenty trout that were in the 11-13 inch range. They were nice trout and seemed to be really active this morning. Maybe that has something to do with the water temperature, which was 56 degrees. That's warmer than it was on Tuesday morning.

I was the only guy fishing early, but it was beginning to fill up as I was leaving. Five, yes five, fly-guys walked past me as I was walking back to my truck. They were all in a group and seemed to be together. I don't know if there was a guide with them or what, but you usually don't see a group that size fishing the LJ. There were also three guys fishing around the first RR bridge when I was walking back to my truck. The sort of strange thing was that there were only two vehicles in the parking area, so I guess there were eight guys in the two vehicles.
