Notes
Best day fishing at Nine Mile Beach so far. I managed to catch 5 fish, 2 Sand Whiting and 3 Trevallies using Pilchard bait. The barometer was rising and fishing conditions kept getting better as the day went on. I noticed that the best place to fish was at the point where the waves were overlapping, i.e. the point at which two waves crossover after breaking on the shore. Just 100m to the left and right of me were other anglers that were not catching anything. At this spot the current was strong and kept pulling my line deeper when the waves went out. Nearly every cast had a nibble and I was unlucky on a few occasions where I jerked the rod a bit too quickly and potentially missed out on a bite. I also noticed that cutting the Pilchard bait into inch size strips tends to work best. Looking forward to the next trip!
