Notes
Water high from the recent rains. Had best luck just before the bend fishing nymphs like wets, i.e. working them back with a hand retrieve. One fish hit so hard it broke the 5x leader. Then switched to 3x and 4x for the point fly. Also switched to a mink & copper and Prince since the water was swift and slightly discolored I figured I could get away with heavier tippets and large flies. Several hits but could not connect. Caught the second fish down by the bridge--dead drift nymphing. Did not see any other fishermen. Weather was cool: bundled up in a vest, fleece, and rain parka plus a stocking cap!
