Notes

Ridiculously windy. I paused while driving over the first bridge on Stocker Creek Rd and saw several large fish just downstream of the bridge. I saw nothing hatching and maybe 2 fish rise all afternoon. I started off with a #22 bwo pattern but it was really too windy to dry fly fish. I switched to a #16 brown parachute emerger with a #20 black zebra midge dropper, and had a rise to the emerger after a couple casts but the fish got off. I had no hits to the nymph. I switched the nymph to a tiny pheasant tail and had no luck. I tried a black chirono-cone and had no luck.

Karl took off around 4pm, and i was getting pretty fed up with the wind. I decided to try a black woolly bugger as my last fly and wouldn't you know it, I landed 3 uppety, snobby spring creek fish and had 2 or 3 other hits in less than half an hour. Weird.
