Notes

MCB, TMM, & BD:

I fished the junk yard section of the LJ this morning. I fished from the bend below the junk yard to the big flat water right below the second RR bridge near the quarry. Sometimes I fish up to the RR bridge at the quarry and then quit, but I ran out of ambition a little earlier than usual this morning.

I started strong by catching a nice 13 inch brown in the rapids right at the parking pull-off below the junk yard. Then in the flat section below the first RR bridge I caught a really nice 16 inch brown laying along the left bank in one of the deeper spots in that section. I also caught another 13 brown at the first RR bridge. In the next two and half hours I only caught 11 more trout, but there wasn't a really small trout in the bunch. I think the smallest trout I caught this morning was at least 9 inches. I also caught a strange but pretty little sunny. I think it was a pumpkin seed sunny. I'm not sure, but I know it wasn't a blue-gill. A grand total of 15 fish, 14 brown trout, and one little strange sunny.

If I fish tomorrow morning, I think I'll just walk back the Stone and fish Sonny's section. It doesn't take much gas to do that and I'll see if I can still get a few big bass to hit the spinner. I don't think there will be anybody else fishing that section of the Stone tomorrow morning. I didn't see anyone else on the junk yard section this morning, but then I seldom see anybody except right at the parking space on the curve where I normally start to fish that section. I did see two vehicles at the old yellow house above Spruce creek on my way home. That section used to be a really good section to fish, but probably for that reason, it now gets a lot of pressure, so it' isn't nearly as good as it used to be.
