Notes

MCB, TMM, & BD:

I fished the loop section above Spruce Creek this morning for about three hours. It was a beautiful morning for fishing or for anything else for that matter. However it wasn't a great morning for catching. Normally, when I fish that section of the LJ I can catch 20-30 trout in three hours. This morning I managed to catch only 11 for the entire morning. The water was low, slow, and really clear, so I'm sure that had some effect on my results. I always start below the RR bridge at the old yellow house and finish up above the next RR bridge. Most days I can catch 6 or 7 trout below, at, and directly above the first RR bridge. This morning I didn't catch a fish until I was 200 yards upstream from the RR bridge. I don't remember that ever happening before in this section. I was fishing for 30-40 minutes before I caught the first trout. I did catch nice trout this morning, nothing really big, but I only caught 2 trout that were less than 10 inches long. I caught four or five in the 13-14 inch range and the biggest trout was 14 inches. They were all brownies.

This is a busy week with our big picnic coming up on Saturday and Jodie and her gang got here yesterday at lunch time. They are road tripping Hershey Park today, then staying in York tonight and visiting the great-grandfathers tomorrow and also swinging by Gettyesburg on their way back to our house tomorrow night. I may sneak in another morning of fishing tomorrow morning. Maybe I'll just fish Standing Stone for bass tomorrow morning. That will save me a few miles of driving.

See you all on Saturday: LJH
