Notes

Fished above North Fork at ~ mile marker 44/45. First time up that far. Long drive, had headache from the washboards. Came from resevoir - might be easier from Idaho City.

The water was crystal clear and was still rather fast - difficult wading but much slower/lower than below NF. Fished pools and tails. Fish weren't picky at all. Caught 4 fish on first six casts. The Bulls and Cutts fought but gave up quick, the Bows were aerial acrobats.

Caught the full gamut - Rainbow, Brook, Bull and Cutt - only thing missing was a Brown. The Bows and Cutts were esp. vivid. Caught more than listed - gave up counting after the first dozen.

The water seemed prime for nymphing but didn't get much action. Caught the one Bull on the retrieve.

Stopped on the way out just before bridge and caught a few smaller Rainbows and Brooks in the slower water along the bank behind some boulders - water was churning in the main.

Great fishing, shitty drive.
