Notes
Sunset: 8:02pm., Temps while fishing: 78-70. White Mayfly nymph: Tail: Fox mask guard hairs; Body: tan fur; Rib: Gold; Thorax: Dark turkey; Legs: Natural CDC. Caught 1st fish in the riffles above Giza's, then fished the sandbar in front of Giza's. Lost several fish on the White Fly nymph--it was quite productive. Switched to a Hex: 1 strike. Then to a Wulff with a Zebra Midge dropper. Landed a couple, but broke off a heavy fish in the riffles (throwing upstream from the sandbar area). The White Flies came early that is before it was fully dark. Missed several fish and released some. The fish by the log went wild at about 8:20 or so. At any given moment there were 1, 2, 3, or 4 fish rising. By then I was using just a Wulff. Two of the fish caught on the midge were foul hooked; probably rose to the floater and hooked by the dropper when I struck. The Hex hatch was light, but the Ephorons were heavy. Super pleasant evening, few other fishermen about, solitude mostly.
