Notes

Compared to the guys around me, I had a fairly good opening day of trout season. The water conditions were much better than expected, but the fish were not playing the game. It was cold but the weather was otherwise nice. I had a guy next to me catch 5, and they were all Rainbow trout. I, and the guys I was with only caught Browns. Minnows seemed to be the ticket for just about everyone, but not too many people caught more than a couple fish, and nothing around me of any size. The fish all seemed to be a little nicer than they have been in a long time. They all were a little fatter than usual, and the colors were of no comparison to previous years stockings. I caught some beautiful looking Browns, they were to the point where they looked nearly as good as a hold over, and spotted really nice too. I would have liked to catch a few more fish, but it was otherwise a good day.
