Notes
I went back to the backwater on Sun. morning but no hatch ever came off. I managed to finally fool a couple rainbows with a tan HE. The first was solidly on the hook until he wrapped the line around a tree branch in the water. He remained on the line for awhile after that but was finally able to spit out the hook before I could untangle the line. The second fish I missed on the hook set. Both fish took the fly very gently so there was no way to detect the take with the indicator fly but the water is so clear and shallow that I could easily see them open their mouths and take the fly.
