USGS 13120500 BIG LOST RIVER AT HOWELL RANCH NR CHILLY ID
In Sun Valley for Lisa conference.
Had a flat - road strewn everywhere with sharp, baseball-sized rocks. Saw 2 others pulled off with flats.
Water was LOW and fishing tough. Tried all areas from pools to runs, banks to rapids with little luck. Finally found a honey-hole in a small, deep pool fed by a drop. Had 4 nice bows (14in) but lost them. They really liked the small Adams & Beatis, finally took a smaller one with a hopper.
Not worth the trip this late in year unless already up there.
