Notes
USGS 13135500 BIG WOOD RIVER NR KETCHUM ID
In Sun Valley for wkend conference.
Stopped by Silver Creek Outfitters, stocked up on flies - all very small with a few lg Drakes. Tried hoppers, ants, Drake but they really zeroed in on the tiny stuff. Lisa lost 4-5 nice fish (14-15 in) cuz of aggressive tension - needed to work the drag and ease off with big fish vs tiny fies.
Water was LOW and the bigger fish held in short, deeper (18 in?) runs around rocks, banks etc. Deeper water = bigger fish.
Fish were very aggressive and attacked the flies hard and fast.
Lisa loved the purple beatis and did real well with it.
