Notes

MCB, TMM, BD:

I fished the junk yard section this morning for about 3 hours and caught 22 brown trout. The biggest trout was one nice 14 inch brown, but most of them were 9-11 inches in length. I didn't catch any of the fingerlings that we helped stock the other day. I thought I may catch a few of them, but the smallest trout I caught this morning were 6-7 inches which is bigger than the fingerlings that we put in. It was a nice day and the section I picked I had to my self. Usually, when I get close to the quarry around 10:00 or so, I begin to see fly-guys in the water or at least when I walk back to the truck they are in the water close to the parking spot, but not this morning. After I ate lunch I drove down stream toward Spruce Creek and then back to 453. Every parking spot going downstream had a couple of cars in it. At the old yellow house there were four vehicles parked. I guess I was just lucky, although the junk yard section doesn't get as much pressure, at least not away from the access areas, as a lot of the other sections of the LJ get. I may fish the Stone tomorrow morning, it would be my first try on the Stone for this year. Bernie keeps giving me all these reports about the nice rainbows he is catching on the Stone, so I guess I'll give it a whirl and see what happens.
