Notes
Malad never disappoints this early in the season. Had the usual, aggressive evening hatch and they really liked anything small and bushy.
Water was low, used waders to walk up on usual run. Used new Winston 3wt, perfect rod for river and conditions. Loved the 14" rainbow on the 3wt.
Saw alot of swirls/ hits as the evening progressed and near the end. The fish came off the topwater stuff. Really needed some film/subsurface flies - that's where the action ended up.
They loved the gray extended-body in #18-20 early tho.
