Intrigued by the guy who was catching big bass on Friday, I bought a jig from Dick's and attached the Yamamoto Kreature. The result was a horrible, unwieldy mess that was hard to cast and retrieve. It hit the water like a grenade and I, kinda', hauled it back in - trying to bounce it on the retrieve.
I wanted a Strike King but everybody is all out because of the Massachusetts ban on lead. I ended with this strange Z-Man compromise.
I may as well have been casting a sneaker for all the feeling I got from the experience.
Power baited for trout - no takers . . .
