Notes
Unseasonably high temperature made for a very pleasant day's standing around. I would have fished a lot less but I met a 40 ish guy called Stan Baron and his food-poisoned German Shepard. I fished while we set the world to rights. Wind knots were a gnarly problem for a while . . .
I made a brief detour to Field pond and a crazy brindle lab-boxer cross, but I headed back to Stearns where a big pickerel made a half-hearted grab at a curly tail tied on a slip sinker rig that really was set up for power baiting. The sun is high and the pickerel are slowly stirring but I have yet to fell that rush of blood that comes with the inaugural hook-up!
