Notes

We scouted Wayzata bay with the dogs in the early afternoon and I found a spot on the GPS where there was a pretty large reef. There was one perm and a portable or two already set up there. Also, there were 2 trucks on the ice right there. We decided to drive out later and we found about 15-16 inches of ice where we set up. First nibbles were perch. They were not aggressive at all. It was very hard to get them to take the bait. It turned out that leaving the jig completely still worked on the couple of Walleye we caught. We also caught 3 Rock Bass which I had never seen before. We kept one walleye that was 12 inces for some walleye fingers for hors d' ouvers.
The funny thing was that earlier in the morning I made the comment that I didin't think I'd ever catch a walleye through the ice. We had a ton of fun. We also had one flag, but I got too excited and when I set the hook I pulled way to hard. I was amped and it got off. : (
