Notes
Fished on river bend South of Ketchum on right - large gravel pull-off. Started hitting them right off the bat, only got better as the day went on. Fished a large pool there and tail. Tapered off quickly after 6pm. The fishing was fast and furious, surface was boiling with strikes. Sometimes hard to discern fly-strikes vs hatch. Everybody caught fish!
Also fished a LARGE (?#10-12) mosquito pattern, which they liked as much if not more than Adams. Ketchum special fly? Got it at Silver Creek Outfitters.
Never been disappointed at Big Wood. Surprising the ease of catching fish on a river with so much pressure. However, if you've never been, be sure to get a map at local outfitters that designates access points and parking - they're VERY serious about access to the river.
