Just the opposite of this morning. Where a muddler minnow worked and a BH woolly bugger did not. The woolly bugger made up for its lack of usage from this morning. Nothing was hitting on surface and even with the bugger it took some time to find the right presentation. The fish that were caught were about 3ft in a pool just out side of the run. My last bite of the day was a huge one. I'm using an 8wt rod and it was all i could do to keep tension on the fish. It had to be some where in the 5lb range in that I could not get any lift out of the fish when it was still. I didn't act like the other bass in these waters or maybe it just didn't act like any of the "small" bass in these waters. It never wanted to come to the surface and where most bass come with the tension put on them he just wanted to run straight to the bottom. We fought for about 30sec where he kept taking line and the fear of it breaking started creeping in on me. I ended up loosing him. I am assuming I didn't set the hook as well as I should have. This was only in 4 to 5 feet of water so I was trying to rule out a catfish. i don't know. I did see 2 bass? jump out of the water in the runs but never could get on hooked. over all exciting day although some disappointment with the one lose.
