Notes

MCB, TMM, BD:

I fished Spring this morning for about three hours. I got there before 7:00 and was on the stream about 7:15. I parked at the fish school and walked back to the end of the fly-fishing only section. I fished from there to above the old hatchery building. Spring creek was in really good condition for spin fishing this morning. It was right at the water level that I like and it was a bit cloudy. I could even cast my spinner and not have to clean it after every cast. It won't be long until that's no longer true, but at least I got to enjoy it for one morning. There was no one else there when I got there this morning, but by 10:30 there were four or five other vehicles in the parking area. I also passed two female fly-fisher persons when I was walking back to the truck. I think that might be the first time I have seen two female fly-fishing persons together on a stream, without any fly-guys with them. It's bound to ruin fishing.

I had a good morning and caught 28 brown trout. Almost every trout I caught this morning was a 10,11, or 12 inch trout. I did catch a couple of 13 inch trout and that was the biggest trout I caught this morning. I only caught three or four trout that were in the 7-9 inch range. All in all, a good morning compared to last Friday morning on the LJ.

Yesterday, Diane and I worked the election polls all day and tomorrow I going to the Manheim Auto auction for Huston Ford, so I don't think I'll get any more fishing in this week. I'm just too busy! This being retired is tough work.
