Notes

Phenomenal midge hatch. Adults covered the snow banks and were so thick on the water that the foam in the back eddies appeared grey. Every several casts I would have to clean the natural adults, pupae and shucks from my fly. Wow.

There are some 20"+ rainbows in this hole.

The wind was horrendous by the end of the day. I may never get the feeling back in my fingertips.

That is excellent. I must have just missed you guys - I came back up to the big hole around 4:15. I didn't mean to stay down river so long - I ended up fishing the runs we fished last winter and caught lots of fish. Glad you and Eric did well up there - I wish one of us would have hooked into one of those monsters, though.

kasta

Yeah, I figured you were probably killing it downstream. 44 fish, not a bad day! :^)
I thought about heading downstream but once the fish started rising to the midges I couldn't pull myself away from the big hole.

bifurcated monkey

nice 44 fish. i am not sure but i would say i caught about 20, with the biggest sixteen, i caught two of those. i wanted to go today but took out part of my eye with my contact last night.
