Notes

MCB, TMM, & BD:

I fished one of the lower sections of the LJ this morning because I figured it would have a little more water to fish in than some of the sections further upstream. I drove back Allison road to the RR bridge and fished from there up to where the stream comes close to the road to Barree. For the first two hours I only caught four brown trout, although they were all four nice trout. I caught 2 that were 14 inchers, a 13 inch trout, and a 12 inch trout. Then between 9:30 and 10:30 I caught 10 fish, but nine of them were smallmouth bass. I think this is the first time ever that I have caught more bass than trout on the LJ. I often catch a bass or two, but not not nine of them. I caught two or three small bass, and the rest were nice 10-12 inch bass. The last fish I caught this morning was the best fish I caught this morning. I caught a fat 16 inch brown on one of my last casts of the morning. We really do need some rain, but I wish it wouldn't be coming on Saturday because we have company coming to go to the PSU-Oregon State game. I guess we will just have to do with whatever happens!
