Notes

MCB, TMM, & BD:

I drove up to Spring Creek this morning and got to the Benner Springs parking area about 7:15. I was the only vehicle there at that time and that's normally late to be the first vehicle at Benner Springs. I walked downstream for 30 minutes and then fished my way back toward the hatchery. It was a great morning because I caught 23 trout, but mainly because they were nice trout. I don't think any trout I caught this morning was less than 10 inches in length and that's unusual. The biggest trout was 14 inches, not a real big trout, but a nice solid trout. They were all brown trout. I saw, but did not catch one really nice rainbow trout. The bow followed my spinner almost to the end of my rod and it was a big one, probably 17-18 inches or so. I couldn't get it to hit the spinner, so I just moved on.

About 10:00 or so, it started to pour, I put on my raingear and fished for another 30 minutes or so, but by then I had caught 23 trout and I figured that was enough for one morning. Spring creek was a bit low and a little off color this morning, but it still fished good, and the water temperature was only 64 degrees, so that's not too bad.

Diane and I are heading to York for the obligatory visit with our fathers tomorrow, so fishing will have to wait until next week. Or maybe, I fish on Friday morning, even though I don't usually fish on Fridays or Mondays.
