Notes

MCB, TMM, & BD:

I fished the LJ this morning for about three hours. I was going to fish the section beginning at the old yellow house above Spruce creek, but one of my friends got up earlier than I did and was already there when I got there at 7:00. You know who you are!! At least it wasn't one of the guys from Virginia or Ohio. So, I drove up to the quarry section and started right above the bridge to the quarry and fished to slightly above the next RR bridge on the stream. I had that section to myself, so it was a nice quite morning. Well, almost quite, except for the fact that they are working on the 453 bridge at the upper end of the private quarry road and the construction guys were making a lot of noise. There are also the trains and the noises from the quarry, but I have learned to just tune them out when I'm fishing the LJ.

I had a morning that was similar to Bob's morning. I caught 20 fish, 18 brownies, and 2 smallmouth bass. I caught two 14 inch browns and most of the rest were in the the 9-10-11 inch range. I didn't catch any fingerlings, which again is a bit of a surprise, but I guess by now I shouldn't be surprised because I haven't been catching those little trout this year. The two bass were both nice 9-10 inch bass, nothing to write home to mother about, but healthy looking bass. As usual I caught the bass in the water around the RR bridge.
